e100 Challenge: Day 46- The Suffering Servant- Isaiah 51-53

Today we start a new 5 day reading section of the prophets.  We begin with Isaiah who calls the Jewish people to repent of their sins, return to God and be renewed.  Isaiah brings hope as he unfolds God's promise of future blessing through their Messiah.  This Messiah, Jesus, would suffer for the sins of all people. Such a crazy message! Why would God choose to save the world through a humble, suffering servant rather than a glorious king? This is contrary to man's pride and worldly ways. God often works this way. The Messiah's strength is found in his humility, suffering and mercy.

Isaiah 53:6 "We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us have turned to our own way and the Lord has laid upon him the iniquity of us all."

Questions to Ponder & Consider...

1.  How have you gone astray and turned to your own way?
2. What does it mean to you that God laid your guilt and sins upon Jesus?

Ways to Pray...
Ask the Holy Spirit to speak your heart regarding this passage. Repent of your waywardness and run to Jesus today! Seek Him, the Lover of your soul.

The Bux-Mont & Telford Campuses of the Penn Valley Church Multi-site Network are participating in the e100 Challenge, a 100-day Bible reading program. True revival comes from prayer and knowing the Word of God. We can only live the life God intended if we know what He says about it. Join us as we read through this plan and grow deeper in our knowledge of God's Word.
