e100 Challenge Day 34 - David and Saul - I Samuel 23:7-24:22

In today's reading we see King Saul's jealously continue to build due to David's popularity after killing Goliath.  He becomes tormented (16:14) in part by the words he heard from the people, "Saul has slain his thousands, but David hid tens of thousands" (21:11).  So, Saul trie sto kill David yet David in merciful when he had the opportunity to take Saul's life.

Remember in yesterday's reading, David was anointed as king, but was not yet placed on the throne.

Discussion Questions...
1.  Though David struggled, why did he refuse to kill Saul (24:1-22)?

2. What does Saul's response to David tell us he knew (19-20)?

3. What lessons do you think David learned as a fugitive?

4. Do you depend on God for the decisions you must make?  Are you willing to wait on God's timing?  Have you ever taken matters into your own hands when God wasn't fast enough? What was the result?

How Should we Pray?
Lord, life is confusing at times.  Help me to wait on you for direction.  Help me to trust that you will provide for my need and give wisdom to my future.  Thank you Lord.  Amen.
