E100 Challenge Day 25- The Fall of Jericho- Joshua 5:13-6:27
In today's reading we see Joshua have a significant experience. Joshua thought that he was preparing to fight a battle against the Canaanites. However, the commander of the Lord's army, (to whom some believe this to be the pre-incarnate Christ) confronted Joshua and told him that He was on neither sides but was in charge of both sides! This commander reveals to Joshua that he is completely in charge and he is not just an idle spectator of the coming battle. How encouraging this must have been for Joshua to see that the battle was the Lord's! This is another example that we are not wrestling against people, but against spiritual beings.
Questions to Ponder...
1. Before Joshua went to battle against Jericho, who met Joshua? Why is this significant?
2. If the commander of the army of the Lord was not on Joshua's side or the Canaanites side, who's side was he on?
3. Think about a current conflict you are in or were recently, how could you see it from God's perspective?
4. How do you think Jesus is fighting for you right now?
Ways to Pray...
Ask God to help you to put on the armor of God today and trust in Him to do your battles. Ask Him to open your eyes to His perspective when conflict or trials arise in your life today.
The Bux-Mont & Telford Campuses of the Penn Valley Church Multi-Site Network are participating in the e100 Challenge, a 100 day Bible reading program. True revival comes from prayer and knowing the Word of God. We can only live the life God intended if we know what he says about it. Join us as we read through this plan and grow deeper in our knowledge of God's Word.
