e-100 Challenge- Day 21- The Giving of the Law (Exodus 19:1-20:21)

The giving of the law is a key moment, in the history of Israel. They were chosen, loved and saved by God before the law was given (Exodus 19:1-6). In this passage we see the law is not the way to salvation under the Old Covenant. It is given to show the Israelites how they are to keep their side of the covenant by living in obedience to God and in community with one another.

Questions to Consider

1. How do you see God’s saving grace in His statement he makes
     to Moses in Exodus 19:1-6?

2. God asks the people of Israel to consider His love, protection,
and deliverance before He asks for obedience.  Why does God
do this?   Would you obey a god that you couldn’t trust?

3. What does Moses tell the people that they need to have to
keep them from disobeying the law and sinning against God?

Prayer:
Lord help me to know you better; your great love, mercy and grace You bestow on me, even though I don’t deserve it.  May this cause me to respond to You in respect (fear) and obedience to You and Your word, in Jesus Name I pray…..Amen

The Bux-Mont & Telford Campuses of the Penn Valley Church Multi-site Network are participating in the e100 Challenge, a 100-day Bible reading program. True revival comes from prayer and knowing the Word of God. We can only live the life God intended if we know what He says about it. Join us as we read through this plan and grow deeper in our knowledge of God's Word.
